Matthew loves, loves, loves, cannot get enough oranges, literally eating 2 whole ones in one meal and asking for more. On a recent Friday night at my parent's house, he got a chair, moved it to the counter (not easy to navigate due to the way the kitchen table is placed). He then ate an apple. He moved the chair back. A few minutes later, he moved the chair to the counter again. This time he ate a nectarine. He left the chair at the counter. Then he came back to eat another nectarine. And a pear. And then he asked for "ajana" (naranja = orange). And after that he ate all of him dinner. Renee also eats large amounts of food and is decidedly carnivorous, omnivorous really given her love of broccoli.
Matthew, though imitating Samuel, has taken to taking about bad guys and likes the idea of being one himself "Mafee bad guy, Mafew coo bad guy" (cool bad guy. He's also seen a few you tube videos that are too old for him (and probably for Samuel too for that matter) so he's been exposed to things that he finds scary. Then he tried to show us what scary looks like - picture this: Matthew with his hands formed like claws, making as mean a face as he can muster (hard because he is sweet through and through, except when he has a tantrum), saying "Mafew scary". He then ask us to imitate what scary looks like or will comfort us when we pretend to be scared "tis ok mami, Mafw not scary".
