Matthew and Renee's First Parent-Teacher Interviews

We had Matthew and Renee's first Parent Teacher interviews today. In short, Renee is ready for university and Matthew is a boy.

Renee has adjusted to the classroom as if she has always been there. She does her work, regardless of other activities that are going on in the classroom. She wants to work with the materials that the older kids use, and she's not shy about asking for what she wants. She particularly likes language and the sand paper letters. She also likes using the dressing frames and wants to do the hardest ones. She enforces the rules of the classroom with the other kids and "reads" to the other kids in Hebrew (i.e. a Hebrew word here and there with gibberish in between). She is learning how to take no for an answer from other kids and has spent some time at the peace corner with older kids who sometimes don't want her involved in what they are doing. She understands everything her teachers say, wants to learn everything, is very independent, beyond her years.

Matthew is a boy. He wants to play with the materials as if they were cars, trains, blocks (and when Regina asked him to work with the materials properly, he responded by asking her to go back to her office!). He likes practical life, pouring beans and water. He is always happy and talks to everybody. He enjoys music and catches words to Hebrew songs better than other kids his age. He is curious and asks for what he wants. He goes to the bathroom all the time.

All in all, things are what you would expect.
